2012 CTA Fleet Safety Award

For the third consecutive year, Young's Commercial Transfer has proudly achieved a significant milestone by winning the prestigious Fleet Safety Award from the California Trucking Association (CTA). This accolade is a testament to our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in the trucking industry. Jesse Nunez, our Director of Safety at YCT, had the honor of accepting this award, representing the collective efforts and dedication of our entire team, including the executive management and the Young's family.

The CTA's Fleet Safety Award is more than just an award; it is a recognition of the relentless and meticulous efforts put into ensuring safety in every aspect of our operations. The award celebrates companies that have made substantial strides in reducing accidents, not only through reactive measures but more importantly, through proactive strategies that include designing and implementing a top-notch safety program.

The process of evaluation for this award is rigorous and comprehensive. An independent panel of judges, comprising experts from various government agencies, undertakes the crucial task of reviewing the self-audit results submitted by all participating companies. This review process is an in-depth examination of the effectiveness and thoroughness of each company's safety protocols.

The panel's scrutiny extends to several critical areas. First, they assess how the company organizes its safety programs, looking into the structural and operational aspects that ensure these programs are not just in place but are a living part of the company's culture. This includes evaluating the quality and comprehensiveness of training programs, which play a vital role in equipping our drivers with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the challenges of the road safely.

In addition to training, the panel examines the measures in place for driver supervision. This oversight is crucial in maintaining high standards of safety and ensuring compliance with both company policies and regulatory requirements. Preventive maintenance of the fleet is another area of focus, as well-maintained vehicles are less prone to accidents and breakdowns, thereby reducing risks on the road.

Lastly, and most importantly, the panel considers the overall record of accident reduction. This metric is perhaps the most telling indicator of the effectiveness of a safety program, reflecting a direct impact on reducing mishaps and ensuring safer roads for everyone.

Winning the CTA Fleet Safety Award for the third year in a row is an honor that Young's Commercial Transfer holds in high regard. It underscores our commitment to safety, our dedication to continuous improvement, and our role as a responsible leader in the transportation sector. We remain dedicated to upholding these standards and continue to strive towards making our roads safer for our drivers, our clients, and the community at large.
