HISTORY

HOME-GROWN PRIDE

The history of our great company goes back to 1935, when G.W and J.R. Young applied for a California transportation license to haul for hire. Our roots are in hauling oranges, and through the years we have expanded our commodities and locations, all while maintaining a humble, homegrown attitude.

Today Young’s transports tomatoes, citrus fruit, potatoes, carrots, and a variety of other crops throughout California’s Central Valley. We’re still family owned and operated, and we employ a loyal group of office staff, seasonal and year-round drivers, and mechanics who uphold our dedication to customers and community.

Through hard work and good, smart business, Young’s has become the largest for-hire hauler of tomatoes in the United States. The season begins in July and lasts through October. During that time, Young’s dedicated team hauls around 13 million tons of tomatoes from field to processing plants.

In addition to being the top produce hauler in California, we’re proud to be a top-choice employer for the dynamic trucking industry. Our drivers are the most visible members of our team, and they do a great job of representing the values for which we stand.
